Michael Kenworthy Joins VulcanForms as New CTO

 In From the Workshop

Metal additive manufacturing company VulcanForms has appointed Michael Kenworthy as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With more than twenty years in aerospace and advanced manufacturing technologies, Kenworthy previously served as Vice President of Engineering at Relativity Space, Chief Product Officer at Seurat Technologies, and CTO at Divergent. Earlier in his career he held engineering and product leadership roles at GE Aviation and Honeywell. Kenworthy holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

VulcanForms’ Growth Strategy

Massachusetts-based VulcanForms delivers laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing as a production platform integrated with post-processing, automation, and software. At its VulcanOne facility, the company is known to serve the aerospace, defense, medical, energy, transportation, and industrial markets.

Kenworthy’s appointment comes at a time when U.S. manufacturers are under pressure to expand domestic production capacity and shorten lead times for high-performance components. VulcanForms positions its integrated model as a response to exactly these constraints.

Kenworthy’s Vision

In a statement following his appointment, Kenworthy said, “Joining VulcanForms is a rare opportunity. The foundation built here allows customers to solve problems that traditional manufacturing simply cannot address.” In his new role overseeing the company’s technology strategy, product development, and engineering roadmap, Kenworthy will work to expand process capabilities, increase automation, and raise production efficiency.

VulcanForms CEO Kevin Kassekert underscored how the appointment aligns with the company’s growth goals, noting, “Mike has spent his career building and scaling engineering organizations in aerospace, energy, and advanced manufacturing.”
