Nylon (PA) Filament: Industrial-Grade Durability
Nylon (polyamide) is the material that opens the door to genuine engineering applications in 3D printing. Its exceptional fatigue resistance, low coefficient of friction, and chemical resistance make it ideal for gears, hinges, bearings, and mechanical connectors.
Its most critical property is moisture sensitivity: nylon absorbs ambient humidity within hours, and wet filament leads to foamy, weak prints. This is why drying before printing and dry storage are essential. It requires a nozzle temperature of 240–280°C and ideally an enclosed print chamber.
For parts subject to friction and repeated loading, it is difficult to match nylon’s performance with any other desktop-grade material. For your industrial orders, we recommend the most suitable nylon variant for your specific application.
