How Is 3D Printing Cost Calculated?

 In Technical

The cost of a print is made up of four components: material (part weight + supports and waste), machine time (electricity, depreciation, maintenance), labor (preparation, slicing, post-print cleanup), and failure margin (not every print succeeds on the first attempt).

At Ucuz3D, we have simplified this complexity for you: we use transparent per-gram pricing. The part weight calculated in the slicer is multiplied by the unit price for that material type — no surprises. As weight increases, the unit price decreases in steps, making large parts and bulk orders more economical.

Design-side ways to reduce cost: choosing the right infill percentage for your needs, orienting the part to print without supports, and not increasing wall thickness beyond what is necessary. Check out our Print Pricing page for our current price table.
